Huish welcomes back BAFTA winning ex-student

We were delighted to welcome back to Huish Episcopi Academy Sarah Ball, who was a student at Hush Episcopi school from 1982 - 1987 and is now a prolific director and writer in children's TV series animation.

Sarah was our guest speaker at our annual Prizegiving ceremony held last week and while she was here also took advantage of seeing the many changes at Huish since she attended the school.

Sarah has directed over two hundred animated TV episodes, three TV features and two chart-topping music videos. Sarah is best known for her work on Bob the Builder and Chuggington. These shows have broadcast in over 175 countries and earned many accolades. Sarah won a BAFTA in 2003 for the Bob the Builder film "A Christmas to Remember", starring Elton John. She also originated Bob's "Can we fix it? Yes we can!" catchphrase and co-wrote the Chuggington theme tune, which has had over 19 million hits on YouTube. She has also written for Shaun the Sheep and made several award-winning short films.

We are very grateful that Sarah was able to take time out of her busy schedule to return as our guest and perhaps inspire some of our current students to follow their dreams.
